Preparing for Hot Yoga

  1. Bring a large towel, a yoga mat and a water bottle since the studio will be heated from 85 to 104 degrees at 40% humidity. Yoga mats & towels can be rented at the studio.
  2. Hydrate well by drinking plenty of water a few days before your first class. Stop drinking fluids 1 hour before class to ensure the bladder has been emptied.
  3. Come to class on an empty stomach, having had your last meal 3 hours prior to class.
  4. Dress as light as possible. Moisture-wicking material such as dri-fit is best. Men can wear shorts and tank tops. Women can wear form fitting clothing such as exercise tops and shorts. Refrain from cotton or loose clothing since it can hamper your practice.
